Inspiration
The Okavango Delta is a magical place. It captures the summer rains that fall in the Angolan Highlands. The rain eventually flows from Angola into this N E corner of Botswana and comes to rest in this inland basin. For a short time it creates a watery haven for a myriad of wildlife. Gradually, much of the water evaporates. This etching is from a trip I took on a canoe in the late afternoon through the delta. As the sun lowered over the reed beds it brought them into sharp relief.
