The Watcher, Barn Owl

Where we live in Kent, south east England, we are lucky enough to have barn owls close by.  Although we don’t spot them that often when we do it is always a pleasure – they are such a beautiful creature. A few remaining.  I hope this print captures some of the intensity of the barn owl’s gaze.

This reduction linoprint is a limited edition and is printed with Cranfield Safewash oil based inks on Japanese paper.  I have tried my absolute best to give an accurate representation of the colours, but computer screens differ so the original may vary slightly in colour or tone, from the image on your device.  Please also note that I hand print these myself  – which means each print is very slightly different.  This is part of the joy of owning a hand printed item rather than a digitally printed and enhanced image – each individual print is different from the previous one.  If you are interested you can see a small part of the (rather long) process of printing this piece on my Instagram account.
